re:gen_central recovery space (CRS), based within a public gallery in central Berlin, was a functional installation and composite environment designed specifically with the purpose of aiding in the rest, physical and mental recuperation and regeneration of urban-space inhabitants.
The modular installation comprised of suspended material panels, soft flooring, climate control, a surround sound audio system and app controllable lighting.
Primarily a 'functional' installation defined by the nature of its use, CRS operated at the intersection of art, architecture and societal politics, exploring the idea of rest and non-productivity as an act of active resistance whilst providing platform for research and experimentation into the role of sound, light and environment in the process of rest.
