AR_Compostion_SALON_OBLIQUExANIMA_1.0
Site Specific Augmented Reality Installation
‘Auto-poetic theories accomodate collapse….before we made the tool that forces energy outward, we made the tool that brings energy home.’
AR_Compostion_SALON_OBLIQUExANIMA_1.0 is a site specific Augmented Reality work which presents digitally created sculptures, or ‘post-organisms’, viewable via a formatted tablet device, within the real world environment outdoor areas of the Bärenzwinger space.
The Bärenzwinger site may be observed as a somewhat singular, quasi-self-contained, micro-ecosystem within which historically shifting states of habitation and usage are acutely observable at innumerable levels of state and scale.
Where figs were once used as feed a tall fig tree grows. Large reeds consume the basin which for many years marked a horizon. Algae, lichen and moss abound and right now human beings use the space to express ideas. The entrenchment and sprawl of entanglement in this environment is starkly materialistic, highly transfigurational and evidently real.
The project AR_Compostion_SALON_OBLIQUExANIMA_1.0 facilitates a further abstracted layer of engagement and entanglement with the ecosystems within which we exist, using experimental technology to stimulate a playful imagination which enables us to interact simultaneously on a virtual and real-world level with our surroundings, and brings into question the role of ‘imagining’ (both in the present and of the future) in reforming our approach to human interaction with the ‘real’ or ‘natural’ world of which we and all else in existence are part.
